ICN Weather Comment – February 21
After days of persistent cold, today finally feels like a pause in winter.
Under clear skies, temperatures have climbed into the mid-teens, and the wind is noticeably gentler than it has been. The air feels warm enough to hint at early spring. Around the airport grounds, even birds that were absent during the harsh cold have returned, moving quietly across the open fields.
Still, locals are not abandoning winter wear. While heavy long padding coats may no longer be necessary, most people are keeping their jackets on — and wisely so.
This mild spell is temporary. Temperatures are expected to drop again tomorrow, so it would be premature to switch fully to lighter clothing. A padded jacket remains the safest choice, especially for the evening.
